An extremely rare George II Table Snuff Box, of large size, made almost certainly in London circa 1750.
The Box is modelled in a large oval form, with silver sides and tortoiseshell cover and base, with reeded rims.
The cover displays an applied oval cartouche engraved with a beautiful mirror script cipher of the original owner.
The initials are surrounded by an unusual outer engraved border of stylised holly leaves. The box is in excellent condition.
Silver and tortoiseshell table snuff boxes seldom appear on the market.
