An extremely rare are Meissen dish in the kakiemon style, c.1740, with bracketed brown-glazed rim, decorated in underglaze blue with a squirrel and dragon in a craggy landscape with floral branches and overhanging prunus, the reverse with foliate scroll, concentric circles and pseudo-seal with the initials ‘AA’. A similar dish can be found in the Wark Collection and is illustrated in Ulrich Pietsch, ‘Early Meissen Porcelain’, p.110. Condition: two restored chips to rim
The underglaze blue mark is probably meant to resemble a Japanese Fuku mark
