An Exhibition-Quality Black Forest Carving of Chamois.
Carved from mature Lindenwood, the family of Alpine Chamois on the lookout, perched on a naturalistically carved tree trunk and rocky outcrop, the composition towering nearly 2 meters; the father, mother and kid executed in the utmost detail with gentle patination and highlights in the fur.
Brienz, circa 1890.
