Exceptional Regency Black Miniature Japanned Cabinet, Circa 1810.
The Japanned miniature cabinet, the top having a moulded edge gilded with floral design, bordering a decorated panel with gold on black ground with Chinese figures, landscapes, buildings and trees, floral sprays and buildings and set with a wide gilded border; opening to reveal a fitted interior above double doors with similar decoration.
The doors open to reveal a bank of two small single drawers and two larger ones, all with handles and each being lined with original peacock blue paper. The cabinet rests on ornate brass feet; the sides comprising similar decorated panels with brass handles.
