English Delftware Underglaze Blue Dish with Swan, 
Possibly Bristol,
Circa 1740

The underglaze Delftware blue dish is painted in the central well within a circular roundel with a swan sitting on water and a peacock up in a nearby tree.  The roundel is banded by a distinctive castellated design.  The border has alternating panels of a stylized plant and a flowerhead within diaper.

Diameter: 10 1/4 inches (26.67 cm diameter).
