English delftware basket with a well painted scene of a man carrying a gun mid 18th century.
Dated: 1850 London, England.
This rare English delftware basket features a remarkable center painting of a man walking with his dog in a rural setting with a rifle slung over his shoulder. The mid-18th-century basket is probably London-made. The base of the piece retains a paper label of the famous Gautier Collection.
Dimensions: 3 inches high, 6.75 inches wide, 6.75 inches long.
Diameter: 6.75 inches.
Current Condition: No restoration with only minor losses to glaze at the rim.
