A Very Good Quality Mid 19th Century English Mahogany Library Armchair, In The French Hepplewhite Style, Having Central Set Carved Cartouche To Top Rail Over Upholstered Back And Seat With Elegant Carved Scrolling Arms Raised On Moulded & Carved Scrolling Cabriole Legs With Shaped Apron And Replaced Brass Castors.

This elegant chair is an English 19th Century take on a late 18th century French style of chair. The imitating of the fine French 18th century furniture makers styles was something which became relatively common within England for a period of the mid 19th century.

The chair is of good, bold, size for its style and is remarkably comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. It is constructed from a good grade of mahogany timber and the carved decoration has been very well executed. The chair has been relatively recently upholstered and covered and is therefore presented in excellent condition ready to go straight into the home. The castors to the front legs are also relatively recent replacements and therefore are also in good operational condition.

Although probably originally made as a salon chair and perhaps part of a pair we think it would be great in a whole host of places around the home now, due to its elegance and comfort.
