Enamel Patch Box in the Form of a Watch.
A rare mid 18th Century English Staffordshire enamel patch box in the form of a pair cased watch of the period. The back decorated with polychrome flowers in light relief on a puce ground.
The front of the box enamelled with a representation of a watch dial of the period, the painted hands set at seven minutes past five. Hinged brass bezels, pendant and stirrup bow, the interior in plain white counter enamel.
