A mid 19th century bronze sculpture of a tethered military horse by Emmanuel Fremiet (1824-1910). Excellent rich brown patination. The saddle cloth is marked with a cipher of a flame above a sphere and is possibly from the regiment of engineers.

Signed 'FREMIET' to base and numbered one to front of harness.
