An Elizabeth II Blues and Royals Officer’s Helmet and Cuirass, 1966.

Height overall: 104cm (41in).

1871 Pattern Officer’s helmet of German silver, the skull applied with a white metal eight pointed  beaded Garter star, overlaid on a gilt mount in form of sprays of oak and laurel leaves, centered on the  piereced Garter motto, ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Pense’, in gilt over a blue enamel ground, surrounding the cross of St George in red enamel, the whole complete with gilt ear rosettes, velvet lined chinscale and red yak hair plume. The officer’s patten cuirass comprising back and front plates with brass studded edging, the interior lined with red leather, pleated velvet edging, and studded brass shoulder scales cast with lion’s mask terminals. Mounted on a velvet covered display stand.
