An Elegant Tulipwood Table in the Louis XVI Style.
Veneered in a beautifully figured tulipwood with a contrasting kingwood inlay and decorated with mercury gilt bronze mounts; the oval table supported on slender cabriole legs with ormolu sabots and foliate shell espagnolettes; the frieze with bookmatched panels framed in scrolling bronze frames and a single lockable drawer. The top crossbanded and quarter-veneered, with a decorative border of kingwood and a central cartouche bearing the initials "G.B."
