An elegant 18th century French kingwood writing table; the parquetry top cross-banded with kingwood above a single drawer, standing on inlaid square tapering legs with brass mouldings and gilded bronze feet. The top slides back and the oak-lined writing drawer pulls out and is fitted with a tooled leather writing surface that folds back to form a book rest, with fitted ink-wells. The table is free-standing with parquetry panels on all sides and would serve well as an end-table. French, circa 1790.
