Serpentine

The kohl pot is carved in one piece of black serpentine. The body has a carinated profile, narrow, short neck, a wide flat lip and a small kicked foot. The integral, square base has four rectangular legs and a stepped lip. A sectioned of the lip restored.

Albert Newall was an antiques dealer in South Africa and had a small collection of antiquities
