Edwardian Diamond and Pearl Bow Earrings circa 1915.

An unusual pair of Edwardian diamond and pearl bow earrings.

These stylish earrings have a diamond set bow design to the top suspending a diamond and pearl drop.

The diamonds are in a fine rubover platinum setting with a milgrain edge. They are very beautifully made and complemented by the graduated pearls which form the base of the earrings. There is an articulated diamond drop to the centre of the earring which moves gently when worn.

These elegant earrings have their original hook fittings for pierced ears. They are in wonderful condition and very wearable.

The bow design has been used in jewellery to represent love and marriage since the 17th Century and was a popular motif in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery.

Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920.

Measurements: Earrings 2.5cm in length (including hook).

1.9cm in length (excluding hook).

1cm at widest point.

Total diamond weight estimated 0.50 carats (pair).

Hallmarks: Unmarked, tests as platinum and gold.
