Painted stylised Gazelles with luster gilding. French circa 1920s. Edouard Cazaux is one of the most important ceramist associated with the french art deco movement.

He was a sculptor and ceramist, who learned his art when he was very young.,descended from a line of many generations of Potters.A formally educated artist, he studied both at L'ecole des Beaux-Arts and at L'ecole de Sevres.

Cazaux's production is distinguished by his stylised hand painted figural & pictorial decoration & his use of  underglaze metalic oxides.He also excelled with his use of stylised vegatation & geometric motifs.
