An Ebonised Edwardian Table from the Hastings Studio of John Bratby 
Reputedly used by him as a Palette for his Oil Paints 
Gifted to his wife Patti with a Table Mirror

Size: 96cm high, 92cm wide, 44cm deep - 37¾ ins high, 36¼ ins wide, 17¼ ins deep 

John Bratby favoured heavily impastoed paint of raw and vital bright pigments, ‘thick as Axminster carpets’. His handling of the paint on the canvas was deliberately crude.
