Early Heriz carpet.
Early Heriz carpets from north west Persia are in a class of their own. Prized for their geometric designs, fine durable construction and creative vegetable-dyed colours, they make ideal long lasting rugs. They have always stood out for their aesthetically appealing designs. The tribal characteristics of Heriz carpets give them the ability to blend in both contemporary and classic spaces.
A late-19th century Heriz has a simple naive drawing, framed by a muted grey-blue main border. The attractive terracotta red field provides a wonderful backdrop for the harmonious vegetable dyed colours, which have all aged nicely.
A handsome example with a creative drawing to complement a wide variety of settings.
