Early Flemish tapestry fragment dating to about 1600, held in an elegant colour scheme of subtle yellows, greens and blues and a trace of red.
The centre piece is formed by a decorative arrangement of flowers in a vase, flanked to the top and bottom by a human figure. The figure at the top wears a plumed helmet in the manner of a knight.
Tapestry weave in wool and silk, with some repairs. The tapestry is bordered by a modern hand woven galon.
