A very smart early 20th Century walnut daybed being an exact replica of the Queen Anne daybed owned by the Marquess of Cholmondeley.

English Circa 1900’s.

Exceptionally well made and surpassing most in style and quality, this wonderful daybed has drawn its inspiration from the Queen Anne period.

The serpentine stitched back with removable bolster over the original buttoned squab cushion, raised by eight hipped walnut cabriole legs with shell cresting, terminating on a shoe foot interlinked by a complex and rare under-stretcher.

The design is an exact replica of a Queen Anne walnut upholstery daybed which was the property of the Marquess of Cholmondeley circa 1708. Literature in The History of English Furniture by Percy MacQuoid Page 183 fig 410.

Extremely comfortable and well proportioned daybed.
