Early 19th Century Snuff Pistol in Boxwood.
RESRVED
A superb example of a ‘novelty’ Pistol snuff box, well carved from Boxwood. Showing the flintlocks, double barrels and trigger. Carved on one side is a Fox and on the other the Devil. There is some fine chequering and a carved ‘ramrod’. Unusually the lid opens from the top.A very fine example in untouched condition. An extremely tactile collectors piece, now becoming ever more rare and collectible. Circa 1820-40.
