Early 19th Century Antique Regency Ormolu Mantel Clock, Baetens of Soho, London.

A decorative Regency period bronze and ormolu mantel clock by Baetens of Soho, London. The Fine quality fusee movement of week duration, has a white enamel dial in a drumhead case. The dial is surmounted with a finely cast eagle and is flanked by flaming Greek style gilded urns, supported on turned gilded pillars.

Below the dial is ormolu swaged drapery and an open cartouche depicting gilded figures. The pendulum has a mask of Apollo and in front, on a rectangular base is a recumbent bronze lion. The base is decorated with a raised acanthus motif and the clock is mounted on gilded ball feet.
