An Early 19th Century 2 Day Marine Chronometer by James Mccabe, No. 199.
Number 199, a two-day marine chronometer by James McCabe, London, beautifully signed and numbered on the dial and movement, and the number on the bottom of the bowl. In a three-part mahogany case now with an enamel plaque.
Unusually this fine chronometer has no up and down dial making the 3.25 dial look very elegant with gold hands. the movement has an Earnshaw type escapement and maintaining power.
The number would suggest a date of around 1825.
Fully cleaned and serviced.
