An Early 18th Century Indo-Portuguese Toilet Box.

Constructed in panels of red tortoiseshell, enclosed in an ivory framework, extensively engraved; the lid hinged, to reveal a mirror inset interior with a fitted drawer. Circa 1740.

This object incorporates old ivory and has been registered with Defra
