Early 18th Century French Regence period walnut console table with a serpentine marble top
French Circa 1730.
A wonderfully shaped rare three legged console table, the serpentine veined white marble top with a moulded edged above a shell and leaf scroll-carved serpentine frieze raised on cabochon and leaf carved cabriole legs terminating on pied de biche (hoofed feet), the triangular stretcher adjoining a rarely seen vase shaped rear bracket.
The relief carving is of extremely fine quality with great detail and depth.
A lovely exaggerated shape and compact early 18th Century console with a fine colour and patina.
