A fine and wonderfully sharp impression of this engraving; Godefroy Maurice de La Tour d'Auvergne, Duke of Bouillon, (1636 – 1721). Dating from 1657 and after the work by French portrait artist and engraver Robert Nanteuil (1623 – 1678).

The subject was a French nobleman and member of the House of La Tour d'Auvergne, one of the most important families in France at the time this engraving was produced. Nanteuil was artist and pastellist to the court of Louis XIV.

Printed on wove paper and trimmed close to the image. Identified in pencil to the printed plinth.

Within modern museum quality mounting and dark stained oak moulding frame.
