A rare miniature tortoiseshell carriage clock by Drocourt of Paris.

The eight-day duration timepiece movement has a platform lever escapement with the backplate stamped with the serial number 18609 along with the trademark for Drocourt, the initials D.C. either side of a clock. The inside of the plates are stamped with a further oval with the wording Drocourt, Paris, Fnt, (Fabricant or Maker) and the blanc-roulant movement serial number 5161.

The tortoiseshell dial has red Roman hour numerals, batons to the outer aspect and gilt-brass spade hands.

The tortoiseshell case is of the bambu style and is of a form used by Drocourt although rare in this size and material and was often also used by Jacot.

For further details of Drocourt and Holingue frères see my 2014 Exhibition catalogue: Pierre & Alfred Drocourt: An Exhibition of Carriage Clocks, available via the Catalogues button on my website.
