A double -lipped Antique French Silver Sauce Boat on Stand, 1st Standard 950 with a removable silver liner. The Sauce Boat is of oval form with two leaf shaped handles and a reeded border interspersed with a cross design.It is in very fine condition and of substantial weight.

The Maharajah was one of India’s richest men and his palace was the largest residence in India four times the size of Buckingham palace!

The Sauce Boat is mounted on a fixed stand which has a shaped leaf edge. The stand is engraved with the crown and sabre for the Maharaja of Baroda.

Sayaji Rao Gaekwar III, Maharaja of Baroda (1875-1939) until acquired by, Shiri Kirtilal Manilal Mehta (1907-1993) and descent to, Mrs Charu Kishor Mehta (b1943).
