Rare English delftware bowl with manganese ground and blue decorations of four delightfully painted fish executed with exceptional style. The bowl interior is simply decorated in blue with flowers and trellis in the Chinese style.Attribution Wincaton or Bristol England .

Current Condition: Restored cracks to body and rim chips.

Literature: Several examples with this type of decoration are located in the V and A Museum London, The Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge England and in Williamsburg USA. Images are shown in various related reference works including figure 15.55 page 251 English Delftware in the Bristol Collection by Frank Britton.
