A decorative pair of late 19th Century painted and parcel gilt German cast iron jardiniere stands or torcheres retaining by Zimmermann.
German Circa 1880
Retaining their original green paint and gilt work, a wonderful pair jardiniere’s or torcheres in Greek revival style. Each with a decorative circular moulded top above griffins issuing chains, the tripod base with parcel gilt griffin monopodia supports terminating on splay feet. The maker's plaque 'E. G. ZIMMERMANN VERLAG BEI IN HANAU’ to the underside.
In excellent original condition these decorative stands will work in most settings with a variety of uses, whether it be to show off urns, flowers, used for candles or to flank an important commode.
