An attractive early 20th century Cuenca carpet which is influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement which flourished in Europe and North America between 1880 and 1920.

This Cuenca carpet has a fresh array of vegetable-dyed colours with a grand-scale drawing that is well-balanced and framed by a simple border.

Spanish carpets represent some of the most venerable and time-honoured rugs in Europe and date back to a time when much of Spain was part of the Islamic world.  Early pieces are highly sought after by collectors.  Both 19th and 20th-century examples make excellent room-size decorative rugs.

A timeless example uncommon in this square format. It will make a wonderful addition to a tasteful setting.
