A REGENCY MAHOGANY CONSOLE TABLE.

After a design by Thomas Hope  Circa 1807.

The table with a rectangular top above a highly figured frieze with ebonised beaded moulding and two cast bronze wreaths, supported on well carved bronzed panther mask monopodiae and narrow plinths.   

Provenance:  North Mymms Park, Hertfordshire.

Literature: Thomas Hope Household Designs 1807   Plate 15 no 3 for a related table in giltwood and without the central frieze motif.

Measurements: 37 ¾” (96cm) High, 53 ¼” (135cm), Wide, 25” (63.5cm) Deep.
