A Coade stone triangular fountain base by Coade
A rare survivor of the 18th century, this terracotta fountain base of tripod form has been created to recreate the effect of stalactites, this form of decoration is known as frost work.
Not complete – there would have been three scallop shells in the centre panel and, of course, it is only a base and requires a fountain.
Circa 1790.
