An extremely good quality mid 18th century Georgian Mahogany Chippendale Period Library Bookcase, or Cabinet.

Having Greek key moulded cornice over superbly figured panelled cupboard doors, enclosing three adjustable shelves over secretaire writing drawer and three further long drawers.

Retaining original brass swan neck handles, raised on elegant original shaped bracket feet.

This charming bookcase is absolutely typical of the mid 18th century when the master craftsman Thomas Chippendale was working his cabinet making magic and many other talented cabinet makers were following, then trying to imitate his designs and styles.

Dating to around 1760, it has real elegance for a large case piece of furniture and it retains a quite exceptional rich colour and patina.

The solid blind panel doors are much rarer than the more regularly found glazed panel doors and we think that they are a great addition, allowing for whatever items you wish to store in the top section to be tucked away out of site with the simple closing of the doors.

Circa 1760.

Height - 84in.
Width - 41in.
Depth - 24in.
