Chinese wucai transitional bottle vase, Shunzhi (1644-1661), decorated with floral sprays of magnolia, peonies and chrysanthemum with fruiting peaches and pomegranates and birds against a stylised iron red ground, divided by a band of scrollwork to the shoulder; height: 15 ¼ in. (39 cm.) The peach is a symbol of longevity and the pomegranate is associated with fertility.
