Chinese Kangxi Period Famille Verte Dish.
Of circular form with foliate rim, finely decorated in vibrant famille verte enamels, painted to the centre with a pair of brightly coloured pheasants, one perching on stylised rock work, the other hiding behind the rocks, surrounded by peony and other plants, a magpie perching on a magnolia branch in bloom, a further magpie flying nearby, the rim decorated with four wide panels, one filled with a butterfly among lilies, one with a bird perching on rock work among apple blossom, one with a butterfly among chrysanthemum, the fourth with a bird perched among peony.
Period: Kangxi (1662 – 1722).
