Chinese early 18th century moulded blue and white teapot. Made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi c1700 at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to Europe.
The moulded form of the tea pot is known as a wrythen lobed body as the panels shape around the body rather than going straight up. The six panels are outlined with a double blue line and painted to the inside with tree peonies issuing from rockwork and grass.
Both the handle and the pout are painted with stems of leaves. the lid is the original lid and has flower sprays around the knop
Excellent example of Chinese export ware tea pot from the start of the 18th century
