A Chinese Kangxi Blue and White Bowl and Cover, (1662 - 1722).
Finely potted, the rounded sides rising tall from the circular foot ring, delicately decorated in vibrant shades of underglaze blue, painted to the exterior with four petal-shaped panels containing alternately: peony and chrysanthemum blooms issuing from rockwork and two panels with censers, one flanked by an artemisia leaf and a paintbrush, the other with conjoined rings and chimes, the domed cover similarly decorated with four panels also containing censers, peony and chrysanthemum and surmounted by a ring finial, the glazed base with a double circle in underglaze blue.
