Chinese famille verte dish, Kangxi (1662-1722).
Decorated to the centre with three noble ladies playing a ball game in a lush garden among potted peony, boughs of flowering prunus and palm leaves.
Another lady looks on from the balcony of a pavilion with her lady servant offering refreshment from within and two young children play among ceramic vessels in the foreground.
The rim with eight peach and cloud-shaped cartouches containing precious objects, flowers and beasts, against alternating floral cell pattern ground.
The reverse with three floral sprays and central Artemisia leaf within concentric circles.
