Chinese Famille Rose Shaped Plate circa 1750.
Chinese mid 18th Century Qianlong (1736-1795) Famille Rose rare plate circa 1750 made at Jingdezhen.
A rare plate as it shows export and Chinese taste decoration although made for export market it is very much in the Chinese taste for design.
The pattern shows a quiet river scene with San pan fisherman with pine trees on the banks with pagodas and retreats and the lovely detail of a pair of Confucian scholars on the promontory.
The chinse gilding although a softer gilding than that applied in Europe is in excellent condition. the gilding shows floral motifs.
There are damages in the way of glaze chips, a large chip and frits to the rim.
But a very rare plate.
