A Chinese export amboyna and hardwood tea table.
China circa 1800.
The amboyna veneered rectangular top has an ebony and ivory strung satinwood band and reeded frieze. The base consists of a turned hardwood baluster column, probably Huanghuali, supported on a tripod base, the three inlaid curved supports with ebony strung panels and terminating in brass claw feet with castors.
Height 29” (74 cm) width 37 ¾” (96 cm) depth 27 ¼” (69.5 cm).
