Chinese Export Porcelain Kangxi Period Imari Sauce Boats.
Circa 1700.
The pair of Chinese Export Imari-colored sauce boats have a shaped oval form with handles formed by stylized animals with the heads protruding above the rim peaking into the boat. They are in blue and white with a couple of small iron-red circles.
The center of the boat has a central roundel with a flower and four large iron-red and blue flowers grow out the the blue band encircling it. The exteriors are painted with scattered Imari flowers and the two shaped ends have alternating bands of iron-red and blue highlighted with gold.
These are really lovely with the unusual feature that they are particularly low.
Dimensions: 8 1/4 inches x 6 1/4 inches x 2 1`/2 inches high.
