The oval polychrome and gilt bowl depicting a pavilion scene of an elegant lady working with a scroll with four female onlookers, the former possibly teaching calligraphy. The sides have pierced trellis work bordered at the top with exotic birds in a floral landscape. There are a pair of gilt scallop shell handles.
