Chinese 18th Century Famille Verte Deep Porcelain Charger
Kangxi c1700 famille verte pie crust deep porcelain charger. The charger was made for export to Europe at the kilns at Jingdezhen.
The centre is painted to show a pair of ladies at leisure in a garden setting in front of a pyramid fence. Unusally they are by a table set out with many items attributed to the scholar including the jardinere of bonsai and vases. there is a flowering magnolia tree and the garedn includes flowers of peony and daisy with scattered grasses.
The top cavetto is painted with cartouches of gamboling lion dogs with a wheel and cartouches of scholars items in a border of foliage and flowers
The back is painted with flowering tendrils of peonies and the base a double circle
