Blue and White rare Chinese Transitional / Late Ming porcelain Tankard of a cylindrical or waisted form. made during the last Ming Emperor's reign - Chongzhen - at the kilns at Jingdezhen c1643
Painted with a continuous scene of two scholars in a conversation I a garden setting. the top of the tankard is painted with scrolling foliage and around the base stylized lappets.
excellent colour and potting of a rare item.

Overall excellent. firings around the base of the handle and stress lines towards the top which are barely visible A small glaze chip by the hole in the handle probably done after firing.The BADA Standard
