 A WONDERFUL CHARLES II YORKSHIRE OAK AND INLAID WAINSCOT ARMCHAIR. CIRCA 1670.

THIS BEAUTIFULLY CARVED OAK CHAIR HAS A GREAT PRESENCE. THE HIGH TOP RAIL CARVED WITH FRUITING VINES WITH SCROLL EDGES, THE TWO PANELLED BACK WITH AN INLAID TOP PANEL ABOVE A CENTRAL CARVED PANEL WITH DEEPLY CARVED LEAF DECORATION. THE MUNTINS ALL CARVED AND INLAID WITH FRUIT AND FLOWERHEADS, FLANKED BY TWO DEEPLY CARVED AND SCROLLED EARS.

THE DOWNSWEPT ARMS WITH SCROLL CARVED ENDS AND SHOULDERS. THE THICK TWO PLANKED SEAT WITH MOULDED EDGE AND STANDING ON RING TURNED LEGS UNITED BY STRETCHERS.
A MAGNIFICENT QUALITY YORKSHIRE CHAIR, PROBABLY HALIFAX/BRADFORD AREA.
