A Charles I silver baluster decorated seal top spoon made in London in 1629 by Edward Hole. The spoon is engraved to the top with the prick dotted initials of the original owner-which looks to be E C and the date 1629 (The last numeral is unclear but I would guess it would be 9) The spoon is in good overall condition but shows some pit marks (mostly to the back)The spoon was found buried near Lavenham in Suffolk in 1932 so would have been pitted by acids in the soil.An interesting spoon.
