For sale is this small, rare, Guild of Handicraft silver bowl with repousse leaf design. Hallmarked with Ashbee’s CRA mark for 1900, this is an early piece from the Guild’s time in Essex House, London.  The pattern on the bowl in fact suggests it may have been made around c 1896-8, and hallmarked a little later.  Similar patterns can be seen in an 1896/7 tray on view at the Victoria and Albert Museum (Ref: CIRC.471-1962) , and in leather designs published in the Studio in Volume 12, October 1897.  See images.

Please note that this is the pair to the near identical bowl that was loaned to Court Barn Museum and stolen in the theft of 2017.  It is not the stolen bowl
