Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain Crested Fruit Coolers, Covers and Liners.

Circa 1813-16.

The circular footed fruit coolers have wide bands of an orange ground with large flowers in white, and gold to the foot, the center and the top of the cover.  The two handles are in the form of shells and the finial is a gilded dolphin.  The edge of the cover has a pierced raised gallery.  The interior of the liners is painted with a white flower head with orange and gilt details behind.

Marks:  Inside the cover of one is a red script "Chamberlains Worcester".  On the interior of the second cover is the mark in black of Chamberlains/ Worcester/ 63 Piccadilly/ London below a black crown.

 In 1813 Chamberlain opened a London showroom at 63 Piccadilly, moving to 155 New Bond Street in 1816.

Condition report

One liner has a invisibly repaired break to the rim of the liner. One handle has a chip to the underside of a handle and there is another smaller chip to the edge of a handle on the other cooler to the outside.
