Central Asian Tuski'iz (bed hanging).
This embroidered tuski'iz is part of a bedding set. The embroidery in a multitude of strong colours is worked in chain stitch on off-black cotton which is backed with a light-coloured cotton fabric. The field with its floral designs is enclosed on three sides by a red cotton border with curvilinear patterns and a band of rickrack, with loops for hanging still intact on the top border. It was acquired in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2000. The textile is a cheerful example of central Asian folk art.
See also an example in the British Museum, which was acquired in 2003. https://www.britishmuseum.org/research/collection_online/collection_object_details/collection_image_gallery.aspx?partid=1&assetid=295516001&objectid=3440155#more-views.
