A member of the Ipswich Art Club and Norwich Art Circle, Seago was an animal and landscape painter in oil. He was born in Norwich in 1910, the son of a coal merchant and educated in Lowestoft. He attended the Royal Drawings Society, where he passed his examinations and won a special prize in 1924. Seago exhibited extensively at the Royal Academy as well as numerous provincial galleries.
